Description:
webalizer-stonesteps - Web server log file analysis program
Closes: 377164 380449
Changes:
webalizer-stonesteps (2.7.2.1-1) experimental; urgency=low
.
* New upstream, released 2006-10-23 (missed quite a few intermediate
releases). From upstream release announcements:
- v2.7.1.2
a.. Optimized evaluation of ignore, include and group lists, improving
overall processing speed by ~25%
b.. BUG: Pages/Files/Hits and Visits/Hosts on the summary page are
shifted when using raster fonts
Processing speed improvement will be more visible if you have many
ignore/include or group item directives.
- v2.7.0.5
New in this and a couple of experimental releases in between:
a.. Added variable history length (HistoryLength)
b.. Added a country column to the All Hosts report and the tab-separated
hosts file
c.. BUG: Country information is missing if LanguageFile is omitted
d.. BUG: [Linux] Fixed a deadlock problem in the DNS resolver
The default value for HistoryLength is 12 months.
- v2.6.1.2 (14-Aug-2006)
a.. Added country name to the host and download reports
b.. Updated GeoIP library to v1.4.0
c.. Added DNS resolution time to the debug output
d.. BUG: [Linux] Ctrl-C did not interrupt processing in many cases
- v2.5.5.4 (05-Aug-2006)
a.. Improved page detection speed
b.. Improved performance for large number of hosts and URLs
c.. Decreased memory footprint
- v2.5.4.1 (24-Jul-2006)
a.. BUG: Visit counts in the user report are computed for pages only
b.. BUG: [Squid] User names in Squid logs are counted incorrectly
Note that disabling the Top Countries report (i.e. setting TopCountries
to zero) will also result in removal of the Countries column from the
Top Hosts and Top Downloads reports.
- v2.5.3.4
New in this version:
a.. Changed the code to ignore the default configuration file if a user
configuration file is provided
b.. Added reporting of the name of the currently-processed configuration
file
c.. BUG: Domain-specific include files were processed if there was no
domain specified
d.. BUG: Ctrl-C did not interrupt processing in many cases
e.. BUG: Fixed a bug causing patterns matched incorrectly if the text
was shorter than the pattern
f.. BUG: Fixed a bug in the GeoIP library causing memory corruption
g.. BUG: [Apache, CLF] Unencoded double quotes in URLs cause these URLs
reported incorrectly
h.. BUG: [Apache, CLF] Malformed URLs beginning with ? corrupt
webalizer.current
i.. BUG: [Linux] The executable crashes when built with some versions of
GCC (e.g. v3.4.4 shipped with FC3)
j.. BUG: [Windows] Worked around a bug in the Microsoft runtime causing
memory corruption
Please note that as of this release, the default configuration file will
be ignored if a user configuration file is provided using the -c option.
If your environment relies on this functionality, you will need to modify
the environment to use include files instead. Read this page for details
about include files:
http://www.stonesteps.ca/projects/webalizer/faq.asp?qid=q20060108-01&topic=webalizer
- v2.5.0.1
New in this version:
a.. Added highlighting of spammers hosts in the host report
b.. Added a new configuration parameter to filter out spam referrers
(SpamReferrer)
c.. Updated the country list to include new entries from the IANA list
d.. Added support for the GeoIP library (country report)
You can download the MaxMind's GeoIP database at the following location:
http://www.maxmind.com/app/geoip_country. Once you downloaded and
uncompressed the GeoIP.dat file, add an entry similar to this one to
webalizer.conf (replace this path with the actual path to GeoIP.dat):
"GeoIPDBPath c:\tools\webalizer\GeoIP.dat". This line will instruct
Stone Steps Webalizer to use MaxMind's geological database instead of
domain suffixes when generating the country report.
(Closes: #380449).
* debian/rules: install language files (in
/usr/share/webalizer-stonesteps/lang). (Closes: #377164).
* debian/copyright: add statements on newly added GeoIP library.
* The source package holds a file debian/README.devel. Check that
one out if you'd like to help with development on this package.
