Description:
libmilter-dev - The sendmail Mail Filter API (Milter).
sendmail - A powerful mail transport agent.
sendmail-doc - A powerful mail transport agent.
Changes:
sendmail (8.11.3+8.12.0.Beta7-8) unstable; urgency=high
.
* Correct inetd mode error caused by MSP/MTA split
(thanks to Jean-Paul Stewart)
debian/sendmail.postinst
* Don't create skeleton sendmail.mc in update_mc because that
prevents sendmailconfig from doing the `right thing`
(thanks to Jean-Paul Stewart)
debian/local/update_mc
* simplify FEATURE(access_db) when possible to remove a m4 warning
I'd forgotten about (thanks to Mark Garey)
debian/local/update_mc
* nullclient setups now gets a smtp listener - required for MSP
(thanks to Harald Dunkel)
debian/local/sm_helper.sh
debian/local/update_default
* Force /etc/mail to be mail:mail 02755 to hopefully solve db build
problems for some users (thanks to Jeremy T. Bouse)
* check/update syslog information on every sendmailconfig - to make
sure we correct things if the user changes syslog daemons under us.
debian/local/update_sys
* Dont run MSP queues from MTA startup or cronjob (fails w/Beta8, ok w/B9?)
this means that MSP_MODE=none|cron & QUEUE_MODE=cron now gets two cron
entries: one for MSP, one for MTA instead of just the MTA entry.
debian/local/sm_helper.sh
debian/local/update_default
.
* Things are looking fairly good now for the MSP/MTA split - finally !
I'm still looking at (any ideas/comments welcomed):
- dial on demand bringup caused by MSP
- a name resolving issue affecting two people (that I know of)
- m68k build failure (compiler optimization error?)
- bizzare alpha problem (maybe bum libresolv on buildd?)
- going back to one (SGID) binary, to reduce memory usage
- MSP and no smtp listenter (what a mess - maybe make /usr/sbin/sendmail
SUID and remove submit.cf?)
- issues in newer private betas, soon to be public I hope
- queue cleaning for MSP
- what to do with mailq/runq (should I make mailq a script that
queries *BOTH* queues) ?
