   * No reaction from upstream regarding these patches; applying anyway:
     * Use 8500 as default port to avoid conflicts with vncserver.
       Closes: #22713.
     * tcpconn.c: When the `-d' option is specified without an argument,
       allocate a pseudo-terminal automatically, print its name, and fork
       to background -- e.g. `minicom -p $(tcpconn -d localhost)'.
       Closes: #24660.
     * mserver.c (connect_netmodem), stty.c (stty_clocal): Unused
       variables removed.
     * stty.c (stty_raw): Do the equivalent of cfmakeraw(3).
   * mserver.c (create_lock, connect_netmodem): Add a trailing newline to
     lock files (per FHS §5.6).
