Good question. Maildir patches for 3.96 do not apply cleanly to 4.0x.
That's why the Debian copyright file for 4.0x says:
"This release has not Maildir support. Sorry."
where 3.96 used to say "Maildir patches were taken from XXX".
If you or anybody gives me a good URL where to find Maildir patches
for 4.0x, I will apply them.
[ This is just one of the reasons pine 4.0x is still in experimental, but
there are more reasons ].
