* actually build with elk, depend on elk (some hacking needed to build
with elk; specifically, I had problems getting stripped module.o to
work for linking; porters, bugs go against elk, please!)
* eliminate the patching at build time (closes Bug#25967)
* Makefile.in: fix clean rule, which was too clean
* src/Makefile.sub.in: link with -lelf and -ldl
