I didn't know about it, but I'd agree with him - w3m isn't a good
*web*browser.
I remember once sending a patch to him to implement a
"homepage"/"start page" preference but he dropped it saying that it
was designed for reading local files.
and that's the answer, why it didn't make good impression on me ;)
(e)links is a much more capable browser with support for backgrounding
and many other tasks. Apart from the evilness of the name sounding so
like lynx it's a much better choice IMHO.
It has some weaknesses, but it's good and useful browser, when nothing
better is available. And it renders tables and frames really well :)
