It's not as if each 386 user has to do some back-port work. One or two people
could probably handle it and provide an apt repository for the rest.
Building a security fix that's already been tested on i486+ for i386 shouldn't
be overly difficult. When you compare it to the work that people such as
Brian May are doing now in back-porting packages to woody it's trivial.
