I checked it out some time ago and wasn't overly impressed.  I think that 
there's little need for such things, potential for breakage, and the patches 
are unsupported upstream and difficult to port.

However I am happy to help you create a lilo-anim package if that is what you 
want to do, it'll stop people hassling me for support if nothing else.  ;)
