Bug#150555: general: Packages.gz should have international versions
Package: general
Version: 20020620
Severity: wishlist
Hi!
It would be nice, that a Hungarian kid could see the package descriptions in Hungarian in the dselect.
Let Debian be a more universal operating system.
Let be a language chooser at the boot of a Debian CD set.
In normal operations let the root choose which translations of Packages.gz be downloaded.
For example he has English, Spanish, German and Hungarian users.
In this case the Hungarian "Debian student" on the system can read the packages' description in Hungarian.
Maybe we should use Packages.gz and Descriptions.us.gz, Descriptions.hu.gz, ...
For very advanced Debian users there is no need of descriptions, so they could work faster and save a little drive space.
Thanks for reading:
