That's the ignorant/stupid kind of programmers. Most programmers I know
(including myself) do whatever they can to get their program working. My
main OSS project runs on almost any platform which has pthreads and the
older non-pthreads version even works on a system like AtheOs..
I know, 'Most programmers I know' != 'All programmers'..
