Are you thinking of something like: package "GNOME" with sub-packages
"gnome-session", "libgnome32", "libgtk1.2" and so on and so forth?
Rather reminiscent of what tasks are; but they would be "super-packages"
instead. Maybe by allowing more granularity within the tasks themselves
(like selection of optional parts, correct me if this is already the
case) you can achieve the same effect.
