As I have understood it the registry issue was that the package maintainer
should not tell the administrator how to configure the system. But in this
case it is the system administrator that creates the package. :)

But of course I can be mistaken.

Just to make it clear. No user contributed configuration packages
should ever be uploaded to debian. They should be created by
the administrator and maintained by him or her. :)
