Re: A section for commercial software?



Please, don't start putting stuff in /opt. This is a place where the
sysadm can put his stuff and I dont want to see that packages are
starting to put stuff in there. 

The correct thing to do is to just put them in /usr/bin /usr/lib and so
on... What goes in here has nothing to do with who made the package but
what kind of file it is. And normal apps are put in /usr/<dir> maybe in
/usr/X11R6/bin.

But dont make packages start putting stuff in places where users and adm
normaly might install things. I think /opt is as bad as /root/bin or
something like that.
