building pcmcia-source

Hello,

When I try to compile pcmcia-source on an up-to-date potato machine, I
get the following warning:

This code is test with gcc 2.7.2.x only. Using egcs/gcc 2.8.x needs
additional patches that have not been sufficiently tested to include by
default.
See http://www.suse.de/~florian/kernel+egcs.html for more information

So, does anyone know if this patch works?

IMHO, Debian shouldn't release potato with source code that cannot be
compiled with the compiler that is also included in potato... (I
wouldn't mention this if it wasn't so close to the freeze date).

...or am I doing something wrong?
