Re: dotfiles in user home directories

Here are two threads.

See thread on "Home directories" here
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-October/thread.html
I.e.:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-October/005234.html
plus these follow-up threads:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-November/005430.html
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-November/005431.html
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-November/005432.html

And "XDG Base Directory Spec" there
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-February/thread.html
I.e.:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-February/003305.html
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2004-February/003313.html

Only somehow related, I usually add a ~/pub and ~/priv directory by adding
them to /etc/skel. That eases users to grasp and use file permissions.

It seems to me ~/.tmp (why hidden?) is a new one.
