Watch files for native packages?

Hi!

I was wondering the other day whether adding debian/watch files to
Debian native packages would be helpful to derivatives? Say to have
visibility on stuff like QA portals like a derivative DDPO, or
distro-tracker or similar.

But then I assume derivatives have sync logic to track their upstream,
so I'm not sure about the potential benefits.

If this would make sense, I'm happy to add these to native packages I
maintain, but lintian would need to be changed as it currently emits
warnings.
