Package description translation

Hi,

As a member of debian-l10n-french@lists.debian.org, I would be interested in 
translating into french the Debian packages description.

Is the DDTS project still active ? 

What should I do to start with that (huge) project for which I'm sure other 
members of debian-l10n-french will be interested ?
