Yes.  One need simply ask himself, why is the cost every procedure
covered by managed care going up, while the cost of out-of-pocket
elective procedures going *down*?!  Oh wait, it is because there is
competition in the marketplace.

I was discussing this issue with someone at work last week.  I was blown
away when he told me that about 24% of health insurance premiums to go
the insurance companies as profit and operating expenses.  Think about
it.  They are basically glorified (maybe not) money managers.  The SEC
would have an absolute fit if there were investment banks out there
charging such ridiculously high administrative fees.  Why do we tolerate
it from the insurance companies?  Oh right, it is basically a government
protected monopoly/cartel.
