[or is Hugh> gnus really that bad?] Gnus is a pain to set up, but once it gets going, it's wonderful. It's the only mail reader that I know of that can fetch mail via an ssh connection (so that I can fetch my mail from the Uni without exposing my password), read news over an ssh connection, etc. I have a laptop, so I have gnus detect where I am, and switch configurations based on that. Gnus is probably overkill for a lot of people (especially if you don't already use emacs), but for me, it just works exactly the way I want it to. The actual interface itself is pretty similar to most other mail readers, and fairly easy to learn. (And, of course, being an emacs app, if you don't like the way it works, you can change it.) As for any linux mail client being better than the hotmail http interface, it's probably a toss up if you want to compare it with "cat /var/mail/<user>" or "telnet <server> 110". -- Hubert Chan <hubert@uhoreg.ca> - http://www.uhoreg.ca/ PGP/GnuPG key: 1024D/124B61FA Fingerprint: 96C5 012F 5F74 A5F7 1FF7 5291 AF29 C719 124B 61FA Key available at wwwkeys.pgp.net.
