That doesn't sound too bad to me.

Make glib2.0-t64 use a different cache filename?

I would tend to treat policy as a set of rules that you normally
shouldn't break, but if there's a clear argument why it makes sense in
given case, it would be quite silly to reject that solution just
because of formal reasons.
