My hope is that the final wording will recommend (demand?) the
conversion from vendor-specific patch series to _something else_,
without taking a position on what that something else should be. The
wording proposed in the last TC meeting (but not yet sent to the bug I
think) did mention build-time patching as an option, but weakened the
initial wording's apparent endorsement of build-time patching as the
recommended method. Before discussing too much further, it might be
helpful to have the revised wording on the bug. If I remember correctly
Tollef was going to post those.
