@don: yarn is a javascript package manager like npm which we already have in debian, as we have pip, gem, composer, go get etc. Both yarn and npm are probably not useful during packaging, but they happen to be popular tools among front-end developers at the moment, that's why I filed the ITP for yarn. And that's also why people keep asking for a more recent npm in debian ... Paolo
