I don't agree that this is an important difference and do not agree with
your interpretation of the constitution.

I also think you are unlikely to persuade the seated members of the TC, all
of whom have been developers for many many years, that their interpretation
of the constitution (whatever that may be for each of them) regarding the
TC's authority to direct policy is wrong, and yours is right.

So I don't think this is a constructive subthread.
