If technical committee members begin to race on feature parity by
getting involved with the code themselves in order to influence the
others' opinions [0], then it feels to me that we're really out of facts
to discuss about and that it's probably time to stop rehashing the
arguments in circles and lean towards getting this difficult decision
voted upon and decided.

At this point, it appears (to me) from the (awfully long) bug thread
that the members' positions have matured with lots of work behind them
and are therefore quite unlikely to change. Therefore, the next uphill
challenge is to get to an uncontroversial ballot which would allow this
decision-process to end; certainly not more attempts at convincing
others that one's camp is right (or the other one's wrong by all means).

Now, it is certainly a very hard decision for the technical committee to
take, but as consensus will not emerge, the only way to take that
decision is to resort to vote.

Cheers,

OdyX
