While systemd is my favorite init system. Debian will probably be
better off with upstart for the reasons Ian said, especially
portability. The reason Fedora and RHEL didn't have a problem is
they only use the Linux Kernel, while Debian also uses kFreeBSD and
the GNU Hurd. --
