Hello, I'm forwarding this message because it was sent to the bug before
the re-assignation to tech-ctte was effective, and hence the -ctte list
did not receive it.
(Btw, I'm not sure if standard practice is to reassign it to *both*
packages, so that the maintainer receives -ctte traffic about this bug?
Please somebody do that if that's the case.)

Hi Technical Committee,
Gerrit Pape, the maintainer of git-core in Debian, does not want to provide an
initscript for git-daemon but rather prefers to force people into using his own
init system runit.
As LSB init scripts are the standard in the Debian distribution, I think that
an initscript for git-daemon should indeed be included.
Due to the maintainer's unwillingness and nowadays unresponsiveness, I'm
calling on the Technical Committee to resolve this issue.
