TC mailing lists' configuration

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

OK, my experiments show that:

 * Messages sent by me to the TC list without signing them
   get silently thrown away.
 * Messages I send signed by the key in the Debian keyring get
   through.

Is this the intended configuration ? This seems to be the case since
early October. It's hard to see exactly but a message of mine on the
17th of October was not accepted. I will resend the messages of mine
that got lost.

(My subscription address and posting address are different. This is
intentional and the former should not be published as it leads
directly to an undefended mail-to-news gateway.)

Ironically, earlier, in a message which was lost, I wrote:

The committee (or most of it?) get messages sent to
debian-ctte-private via an alias on chiark. This made it easier to
change the list without bothering the Debian sysadmins and also
prevented automatic unsubscription due to rejected spam.

The spam coming in via this route has been increasing recently. Today
I had 102 pieces of spam in my mailbox via this route.

This is obviously untenable. I have configured the alias to discard
all mail for the moment. We should discuss what to do about this
  situation.

For now, if anyone should want to mail the committee privately (which
is only supposed to be done regarding questions of the composition of
the committee itself) this will have to be done with a manual list of
addresses and/or by mailing a committee member asking to pass the mail
  on.

I hope this meets with people's approval.

But that doesn't seem to be related.

Ian.
