Re: [Fwd: Bug#399859: nagios2 uses images from nagios-images, but has no recommends or suggests]
Ok, off into wasting even more time that could be better spent.

I explained my position, and happen to disagree with the submitter.

We are currently planning to split off the web interface off the main
nagios2 package from the web interface post-etch, as a nagios daemon
might be useful as scheduler for a host that delivers passive service
checks.
The web interface package will have a stronger dependency to
nagios-images. Currently, the intention is to keep the dependencies
small as nagios2 might be installed on hosts that do not need all
bells and whistles.
I therefore think that suggests is the appropriate degree of dependency.

The submitter is vastly exaggerating.

In Upstream, the software is not meant to be packaged at all.

The application just runs fine without the images.

It is going to waste a lot of disk space on systems that do not use
the web interface.
