I think if you were regularly using dgit for your uploads (regardless of git-debrebase) it may have spotted that something was wrong. One idea might be a salsa CI job that checks and rejects your merge request. But that wouldn't work if, e.g., you made commits, uploaded to the archive, and only then pushed to salsa. -- Sean Whitton
