IIRC the other major reason was that the SBCL maintainer was Peter
alone. Now that SBCL is under team maintenance  everyone can step
in and help :-D

Given what I wrote above about team maintenance and if Peter agrees, do
you want to join the Debian Common Lisp Team  and take care of SBCL
for mips and mipsel? Obviously, you can help with other things, too.
