Is python-google-compute-engine obsolete in GCE buster instances?

Hello.

I apt-get upgraded a GCE buster instance yesterday (made from the latest
buster image) and I got this:

Preparing to unpack .../python-google-compute-engine_2.8.13-1_all.deb
...
Unpacking python-google-compute-engine (2.8.13-1) over (2.8.13-1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive
/var/cache/apt/archives/python-google-compute-engine_2.8.13-1_all.deb
(--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/google_accounts_daemon', which is also
in package python3-google-compute-engine 20190124-1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/python-google-compute-engine_2.8.13-1_all.deb
 E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I see that most GCE-related packages that were bundled with stretch
images exist now in buster and have this mailing list as the
maintainer. So: What's the plan regarding python-google-compute-engine
and python3-google-compute-engine?

Perhaps is python-google-compute-engine obsolete and we can expect it
not to be present anymore in a future buster official image?

Thanks.
