AWS EC2: Deprecating Debian 7.6.aws.2 AMIs (21 Nov 2014; ~ just less than 4 weeks away)

Hi all,

With Debian 7.7 AMIs distributed a week ago
(https://lists.debian.org/debian-cloud/2014/10/msg00009.html) and now
also included in Frankfurt
(https://lists.debian.org/debian-cloud/2014/10/msg00029.html), I'm going
sun-set the 7.6.aws.2 AMIs for around 4 weeks away, Friday 21st November
2014.

Wheezy 7.7 AMIs have just been passed to the AWS Marketplace team today
for distribution there as well.

Any CloudFormation templates and/or AutoScale groups that reference
these deprecated AMIs should be updated to use newer AMIs. If you wish
to preserve these images yourself, you may launch an instance from these
AMIs, then create a new AMI of the running instance saved in your
account to keep it. Note that you will start paying for the storage of
the snapshot (for EBS backed AMIs) or S3 storage (for S3 backed AMIs)
corresponding to the instance at the time you create your own image.

A short time after public access for these outdated AMIs has been
removed, I will then dispose of these old images unless someone needs
them re-enabled and extended for a period.

As always, check https://wiki.debian.org/Cloud/AmazonEC2Image/Wheezy for
notes.

(And a reminder that the even older 7.5, 7.6 (orig) releases will be
removed in this coming Friday, 31st October. *spoooooky*)
