Great stuff! I didn't know they switched licenses, or is it only for the python version?
I remember we switched to euca2ools so the bootstrapper was in line with the DFSG.

AWSCLI is a new (in 2013) version for command line utils, totally hosted on github, patches welcome, pet project of Mitch (creator of boto), and primary focus for support of as much as possible of the AWS APIs. Its been under a suitable open source license and on git hub since this project started. It replaces the individual bundles of command line utilities previously produced by Amazon and written in Java. Yes this is in Python, and relies closely on updated boto library.

One way of getting this:
apt-get install -y python-pip && pip install awscli

(Or clone from https://github.com/aws/aws-cli.git and install)

And of course, patches welcome: https://github.com/aws/aws-cli.
