From an initial look, I'll probably be asking you to switch to dh though, to simplify the packaging (unless you really don't want to). In the meantime, you'll want to apply to the pkg-cli-libs project on alioth.debian.org and make sure you have an SSH key in your account. We maintain almost all of our packages using git with git-buildpackage. BTW, you sent this mail to the /Mono/ maintainers, but it should have gone to the cli-libs team or, better, debian-cli.
