Hi!

Thanks for the report.  I have been able to reproduce and I agree that 
this is a bug, although definitely not an "important" bug.

I understand that you are trying to script your screensaver 
interactions, but the screensaver already ships with builtin 
functionality for triggering after idle time, etc, so a misbehavior in 
the cinnamon-screensaver-command does not justify severity important.

Regarding the actual bug, I guess the code needs to be modified to catch 
the exception and either retry or exit with error, but not hang as it 
does here.
