I'm not seeing a problem with the current commits blocking a release. So without further objection the next day or two I think you can cut a release and upload (you have the rights in salsa already, feel free to add yourself to uploaders too).

We have indeed a history of providing backports. As we explicitly [1] aim to support stable, that ought to be a no-change rebuild.
