I would welcome a patch but it I think it is Martin who has been doing
most of the work recently.  But if he doesn't object, fiune :-).

If it isn't going to have any particular dependencies (eg on a
specific python version or something) then that is probably a good
name, yes, and it can grow to contain other similar libraryish things
for other languages.

I'd be happy to chat.  I warn you that I don't have a lot of effort
for actually doing any of the work, though.
