I would like to NMU autopkgtest

I completely agree that would make sense, yes.

I'm now Cc:-ing Ian, as the sole maintainer at present of autopkgtest,
in the hope he could explicitly ack that he is OK with adding you two as
co-maintainers. I'm an admin on the autopkgtest project alioth, and can
therefore add other members to it, but I'd be way more happy to do so
with an ack from Ian.
