Pkg-deepin work progress report, November 2017

Dear pkg-deepin members, mentors and debian-chinese-gb list members,

This is a brief report about packaging progress in pkg-deepin team as
of November 2017. As always, you may find the packaging progress in the
dependency graph hosted on Alioth. [1]

Pkg-deepin team mainly focuses on introducing Deepin Softwares into Debian
"upstream" so that they can be made available to all Debian derivatives
w/o bothering flatpak/snappy/etc. Our final goal is to push DDE (Deepin
Desktop Environment) into Debian.

The following changes were made in last month:

* Package dde-qt-dbus-factory passed NEW queue.
This essentially means that the whole libdtk ("deepin-tool-kit") family
is now present in Debian. Such presence unlocks a set of Deepin softwares
written in Qt5 based on libdtk.
* Latest version of dtkcore, dtkwm, dde-qt-dbus-factory and dtkwidget
libraries are pushed into Debian unstable.
Users of Debian Testing may not enjoy them immediately since Qt5 5.9.2
  transition is a blocker.
* Bundled libcutelogger in deepin-shortcut-viewer package was removed in
cooperation with upstream deepin staff. DLog in libdtkcore would provide
  same functions.

Our target next is to push some useful deepin utilities into Debian, most
notably deepin-screenshot, a powerful desktop screenshot tool.

Meanwhile, there is little progress in the Golang part. Anyone interested
in packaging Deepin softwares written in Golang would be warmly welcomed
to join pkg-deepin team here.

We are still in lack of manpower. If there's anyone interested in
packaging Deepin Software, please consider joining pkg-deepin team [2]
and work with us. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Boyuan Yang
