I had this problem also. I use etch/testing with sid/unstable kernel. I had to use Knoppix 4.0.2 to fix the problem. But the problem got worst for me because I didn't do it properly. Knoppix 5.0.1 doesn't work because of the 2.6.17 bug in it. Now I have to reinstall, but I still use XFS. One small problem then change for life? It's not so wise. All filesystems sure have problems, its the matter of later or early.
