Debian 预设是使用 nvi 吧？这个和 vim 有些不同，但比 vim 『标准』就是
了！:-)
中文的话，应该是 vim 较好。
有一个老程式 xwpe/wpe 或许可以试看看，不过我是觉得 vim 或 emacs/xemacs
比较好用，各人习惯啦！:-)
