Do you mean SmartBootManager not Samba?

That's right. SBM is NOT a system loader. :) So it needs the lilo.
Refer to the doc included in SmartBootManager, please.

The author suzhe(suzhe@gnuchina.org) is working on the ext2fs driver
and others. But all could imagine that SMB can't be bigger.
