I believe Debian's lists use SmartList in which case all that needs doing is to make sure "foreign_submit" is unset in rc.custom for the list (i.e. it's mentioned on a line on it's own with no following value). I've been emailing listmaster (which turned out to be Jaakko Niemi) off-list requesting this behaviour to reduce spam, it looks like he might be trying to implement it. This setting will allow subscribers to post to the list but not non-subscribers (including spammers). Mark.
