These prevent some very nasty problems from happening, including
a recursive symlink and a similar infinite recusrion and out of memory
error. They should also suffice to clean up people's systems who are

xinetd - replacement for inetd with many enhancements

suffix ".xinetd.old", and then removes the diversion. The obsolete files
made this way are "rm -f"ed in postrm.

from previous versions of the Debian bind package to 8.2.1 and later was
not made lightly. The inconvenience of a one-time manual transition is
real, but automating the configuration update from pre-8.2.1 packages is
nowhere as trivial as it should be for various reasons. Once the 8.2.1
schema is in use, everything is done "Debian style" with liberal use of
dpkg conffile handling, so future upgrades should be completely automatic.

Fixed the problem with nedit and accelerators. nedit installs and
removes accelerators _alot_. The mask were were using to install and

removed, but all the data the handler used was freed. Needless to say
strange things happened after this.
Looks like the nedit bugs are _finally_ fixed (thanks to Bjoern Brill
for letting me know).

uncapable to remove two obsolete packages ot once. apt and hopefully

to use -fPIC instead, which is a difference from the upstream.
If you're the maintainer of a package with binary Python modules,
please check if the module was compiled with -fPIC. If not, recompile
the package with python-dev (>=1.5.2-6) installed. If your package
doesn't use /usr/lib/python1.5/config/Makefile.pre.in, make sure
the its own Makefiles are using -fPIC.
