dpkg-cross (1.0) unstable; urgency=low
  * Major reorganization of package installation (dpkg-cross), based on
    great idea by Joey Hess. (Fixes: #15725) dpkg-cross doesn't implement
    its own package management anymore, but uses dpkg for this. Therefore
    it converts to-be-installed packaged to *-arch-cross packages by
    moving files around and rewriting control infos.
  * New tool dpkg-cross-convert to convert old-style installations to new
    dpkg-based ones.
  * Little rewrites to dpkg-shlibdeps due to new installation scheme (now
    uses dpkg --search instead of own function, new location of shlibs
    files)
  * New options -v and -q to dpkg-cross (verbose/quiet)
  * New actions --update and --query for dpkg-cross: They update all
    installed packages if updates are available, or list those updates,

    already up-to-date files (Fixes: Bug#6018, Bug#8144, Bug#9276).
  * Added support for un-sectionned distributions (eg. `experimental')
    (Fixes: Bug#8598, Bug#15334).
  * Corrected guess for available space on disk when partition name is
    too long (eg. NFS, pb reported by Todd T. Fries to Christian Hudon).
  * Switched dependencies to 'libnet-perl' (starting from 'hamm'),
    because the mdtm bug is fixed now.
  * Added the ability of retrying a download just after one aborted,
    without losing time re-reading all those files.
  * Added to ability of continuing an interrupted Packages.gz

  * Improved info display for partial files.
  * Install new BUGS file in doc dir.

    tests.
  * First try at supporting authenticated FTP proxies (thanks to Jason
    Gunthorpe <jgg@gpu.srv.ualberta.ca> for guidelines).
  * Don't run "dpkg --*-avail" if no Packages files was updated.

    cluttered "install" uselessly.

    <charly@pst15.ukl.uni-freiburg.de>).

dpkg-mountable - Enhanced access method for dselect
dpkg-mountable 0.5 -> 0.6 into hamm/hamm/binary-alpha/admin
dpkg-mountable (0.6) unstable; urgency=low
  * Give a more helpful error message if dpkg dies with no error summary, as
    it seems to be happening more and more these days. With a bit of luck,
    I'll be able to gather enough information to fix it.
  * Don't assume the Packages file matches the directory structure of the
    mirror. If we can't find files, try looking in the subdirectories rather
    than straight from the root directories, and then start removing
    directories from the beginning of the filenames. (fixes #17694)
  * Set DPKG_NO_TSTP when installing, so dpkg spawns a new shell rather than
    trying to background itself, partly because it might be useful to have a
    log of that too, but mostly because I don't understand job control well
    enough to fix logcmd. Any offers would be gratefully received. (fixes
    #9217,#13544).
  * Keep a copy of the available packages file on update, and use that
    rather than dpkg's version (fixes #8054,#9375,#9932,#10845). Thanks to
    Kirk Hilliard for testing this one.

  * Added SUBARCH, which is used to distinguish Amiga, Atari, Macintosh,
    etc. kernels for Debian/m68k, and may well be required for the alpha,
    from what I hear. Unlike the FLAVOURS variable, which affects
    everything it can lay its grubby hands on (kernel image, headers,
    source, doc package versiosn, and where the modules are looked for
    unde /lib/modules), this only affects the naming of the kernel-image
    as the source and doc packages are architecture independent and the
    kernel-headers do not vary from one sub-architecture to the
    next. These changes are coutesy of James Troup <J.J.Troup@scm.brad.ac.uk>

kernel-package (3.60) unstable; urgency=low
  * This is a major change in the source/header packages. In architectures
    different from i386, `kernel-headers-*' and `kernel-source-*' are
    incompatible. This also has an effect on libc6-dev, which depends on
    kernel-headers-2.0.3x | kernel-source-2.0.3x, which is only true on
    i386 architectures. One possible solution would be to make libc6-dev
    depend on kernel-headers-2.0.32, but that won't work because
    kernel-source provides kernel-headers. In fact, since kernel-headers
    are arch dependent, but kernel-source is arch: all, kernel-source-*
    should not provide kernel-header* at all.
    Once kernel source stops providing kernel-header*, and libc6-dev
    depends on kernel-headers-2.0.32 and links /usr/include/{linux,asm} to
    /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.0.32 (nor /usr/src/linux-2.0.32) things
    would work again in a Multi arch compatible fashion.
    Hence, now kernel-source-* packages compiled with this kernel-package
    shall not provide any sort of kernel-headers. For the sake of
    backwards compatibility, /usr/src/linux-$version symlinks are still
    being provided (as people may upload newer kernels while keeping an
    older libc6-dev around, which depends on /usr/src/linux-2.0.32.
    However, I have been badgered enough about this that I shall remove
    the /usr/src/linux-$version symlinks at some point. This version no
    longer registers stuff in /usr/src/.linux-versions, and is no longer
    as paranoid about /usr/src/linux; but it does not outright remove
    those files either, so as not to cause people with older kernels
    having a problem during removal.As soon as it is deemed permissible,
    we shall get less paranoid about /usr/src/linux-$version as well.
  * closes: Bug#18277

kernel-package - Debian Linux kernel package build scripts.
kernel-package 3.60 -> 3.61 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/misc
kernel-package (3.61) unstable; urgency=low
  * There were bugs in 3.60, which are fixed in this release. Since the
    changes since pre-3.60 are so drastic, I am including the changelog
    entry again (as most people shall not see 3.60)
  * Fixed copyright files for all generated packages. This is one lintian
    warning less to worry about

lintian    - Debian package checker
lintian 0.2.0 -> 0.2.1 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/devel
lintian (0.2.1) unstable; urgency=low
  * Fixed bug in ldconfig collection script: script aborted without
    error message if a shared library had errors (thanks to Kai!)
  * Fixed bug: `standards-version' check didn't collect necessary data
    (actually, this was a more general bug--thanks to Joey Hess!)
  * Fixed bug: init.d checker script didn't notice if several of the
    required options (start, stop, etc.) have been included on a single
    line (thanks to Joey Hess!)
  * Don't check duplicated packages more than once (thanks to Joey Hess!)
  * Error handling code improved once more
  * Added more overrides (Thanks to Joey Hess!)
  * Mentioned Lintian's home page in the README file
  * Set package priority to `optional' (requested by several developers)

    exists (fixes bug#18227, bug#18252)
  * Added "Depends: file" (oops!)

  * Added a lot more override entries (thanks to all that told me about
    overrides!)

lintian    - Debian package checker
lintian 0.2.2 -> 0.2.3 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/devel
lintian (0.2.3) unstable; urgency=low
  * Fixed manual-pages check: Check for the `undocumented' symbolic
    link failed on X11 manual pages (fixes #18343).
  * Improved files check. New tag:
      etc-cron.d-script-tagged-executable
  * Improved control-files check:
      - the `du' control file is not allowed anymore
      - check file permissions of control files
    New tags:
      control-file-has-bad-permissions
  * Fixed bug: ldd-info collection script stopped when ldd failed
  * Fixed (internal) bugs:
      - collect data for collection scripts too
      - don't collect init.d data everytime again
  * Error handling code improved again :)
  * The lintian frontend script checks if it has root permissions and
    aborts if this is the case. (Running it as root is unnecessary and
    simply too dangerous.)
  * Added one override entry

lintian    - Debian package checker
lintian 0.2.3 -> 0.2.4 into hamm/hamm/binary-all/devel
lintian (0.2.4) unstable; urgency=low
  * Added `fields' check for control fields. (That's the first check
    written by Richard--and it's all Perl!!! ;-)
    [32 new tags]
  * Added `binaries' check.
    [6 new tags]
  * Improved `shared-libraries' check:
      - use objdump instead of ldd and ldconfig
      - this should fix all problems where Lintian couldn't check
        python/perl dynamic objects, etc.
      - allow cross-checking of packages, e.g., to check non-i386 .debs
        on a i386 system (note, that this requires a multi-arch objdump)
      - recognize if the shared library uses its SONAME
    New tag:
      shared-library-uses-its-soname
  * Improved `control-files' check:
      - Don't check the `control' control file for correct
        permissions, because dpkg doesn't care and this file isn't
        installed on the systems anyways
  * Improved `files' check:
      - Games are allowed to be setgid games
      - svgalib programs are allowed to be setuid root
      - usually, files in /usr/doc/foo should not be executable
    New tag:
      executable-in-usr-doc
  * Fix bug in `manpages' check: symlinks in /usr/bin, etc. also need
    a manual page! (Thanks to Joey Hess for pointing this out!)
  * Use `.' instead of `source' in lintian-{remove,setup} /bin/sh scripts
    (fixes bug#18421)
  * Define default values for configuration variables in
    lintian-{remove,setup} scripts (fixes bug#18354)
  * Fix bug in `copyright-file' check: Don't report
    usr-doc-symlink-to-foreign-package if we don't know whether the
    referenced package comes from the same source or not.
    (Thanks to James A. Treacy for pointing this out!)
  * Internal change:
      - process source packages before binary packages so that a binary
        package check can use info from the source packages (if these
        are unpacked, too)
  * Added more override entries--and removed a few obsolete entries
    (the checks are smarter now! :)
  * Added "Depends: binutils" for `objdump'
  * Changed maintainer email address to lintian-maint@debian.org

  * Changed debian/rules to change mode of files that are going to be
