Uggh.  Yuk.  Is there any way to hack this to not cause chaos.  Some
poor user soon is going to convert their Debian system into a
Debian-Red Hat hybrid and I don't want to help them debug it.

I guess the appropriate question is what happens if you install a Red
Hat package that conflicts with a Debian package?  Does rpm silently
overwrite things?  If not, then my conscerns are unjustified.
