about this mailing list

You are reading the debian-changes mailing list. If you aren't interested
in this information, send a message to debian-changes-request@pixar.com
containing the word "unsubscribe". Do not reply to this message, send it
to debian-changes-request@pixar.com . A reply to this message would be
distributed automaticaly on the debian-changes list and get 300 people
who read it annoyed at you.

Messages sent to debian-changes announce packages for the Debian system
that have recently been uploaded. The packages now come in to
ftp.debian.org:/debian/private/project/Incoming, and then are moved into
the "visible" portion of the archive by the archive maintainer. We are
planning to automate the archive-maintainer's task, but we're not there
yet.

The debian-changes list is only for announcements. Discussion should be
carried out on the lists debian-user@pixar.com or debian-devel@pixar.com .

If you are getting this mailing list delivered to the same mailbox that
gets your personal e-mail, it's time you ran "procmail". Get it from
ftp.informatik.rwth-aachen.de:/pub/packages/procmail/procmail.tar.gz .
I use it to split up mail from 30 (!) lists into their individual mailboxes
for me to read at my convenience.

If there's anything you don't understand, please write to Bruce@Pixar.com

	Thanks

	Bruce Perens
