The install process ignores an integrated BroadCom BCM5751 and does not detect a USB wireless that uses the r8712u driver in Debian 8.x. The BCM5751 was formerly supported in the standard installation, the USB wireless requires the nonfree repository.
I've tried the following installation media:
debian-live-9.0.1-amd64.iso
Debian -9.0.0-amd64-DVD-1
firmware-9.0.0-amd64-DVD-1
and none detect the hardware for installation. The Live media detects it for the Live environment only, not installation.
