Hi Nik,

first, this is no longer the right list for this thread.
Please post general question no longer here. :-)

You can install ssh as root via:
# apt-get install openssh-server
After this ssh should be active.

Everything else you can find in the very good "Debian Wiki" under:
https://wiki.debian.org/SSH

Or google is your friend with:
"debian ssh server installation"

So - have fun and a nice day with debian.  :-)

debian-8.8.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso

The installer then loads all other necessary data that is not contained in this ISO file over the Internet.

You need the two other DVDs only if you want to use programs that are not included on the first DVD _and_ if you have no Internet connection during the installation.
