Bug#857597: debian-cd: "isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC

Hi,

now that a new set of SYSLINUX packages is announced by

  https://lists.debian.org/debian-cd/2017/10/msg00025.html

with changelog entry

   * Add patch from upstream to fix boot problem for old BIOS firmware from
around 2005 by correcting the C/H/S order (thanks Thomas Schmitt).

what to do with this bug report ?
Re-assign to package "syslinux" and then close it ?

Further:
Shall the debian-cd FAQ advertise the file /usr/lib/ISOLINUX/isohdpfx.bin
from binary package "isolinux" of Sid as remedy for older Debian isohybrid
ISOs ?
Is there a way to obtain that package and extract the file with vanilla
tools which are not debian-specific ?

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
